New Sonder Centre to support people living in the Gawler region
Individuals living in the Gawler region now have easier access to mental health and drug and alcohol services with the opening of a new Sonder centre in Willaston.
The new centre offers a range of services for individuals seeking support for mental health and alcohol and/or other drug use concerns, funded by Country SA PHN.

The centre is located on Kaurna Country at 36 Main North Road, Willaston.
Mental health and alcohol and/or other drugs services available
Included in the list of available services at Gawler is Sonder’s Adult Wellbeing program, offering psychological therapy for people aged 14 years or over, with mild to moderate mental health concerns such as stress, anxiety or depression.
Adults aged 18 years or over, experiencing the impact of severe mental illness can receive support to coordinate services, develop self-management skills and improve their wellbeing through Sonder’s Clinical Care & Coordination program which provides psychological therapy and care planning.
Access to both the Adult Wellbeing and Clinical Care & Coordination programs is via a Mental Health Treatment Plan, which can be obtained during an appointment with a GP. For more information about Mental Health Treatment Plans and how to access one, visit sonder.net.au/mental-health-treatment-plan
Individuals living in Gawler with concerns about their alcohol and/or other drug use can access support through Sonder’s AIM (Alcohol & Other Drug Intervention & Management) program. AIM is available for people aged 16 years or over and is delivered by Peer Support Workers with their own personal, lived experience of the recovery journey and dedicated Clinicians experienced in supporting individuals with a combination of both substance use and mental health concerns.
Getting started with AIM is easy! Individuals can self-refer by completing a self-referral form, available from the AIM webpage or by calling the team on (08) 8209 0710.
