Two days of comprehensive training will equip professionals with the skills to offer compassionate support and evidence-based interventions, fostering healthier outcomes and recovery for those experiencing alcohol and other drug use challenges.
After completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Describe the spectrum of alcohol and other drug use and be able to identify the risks.
- Approach conversations about alcohol and other drug use with their clients with confidence.
- Understand how to utilise appropriate screening tools and resources.
- Develop skills and knowledge around the utilisation of harm minimisation/reduction strategies, motivational interviewing and brief interventions.
- Describe treatment options and referral pathways.
- Confidently incorporate family, culture and community into client care.
