Facilitated by experts in the field, this alcohol and other drugs workshop will provide your team with the essential knowledge needed to address this complex and critical aspect of client care.

Two days of comprehensive training will equip professionals with the skills to offer compassionate support and evidence-based interventions, fostering healthier outcomes and recovery for those experiencing alcohol and other drug use challenges.

After completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the spectrum of alcohol and other drug use and be able to identify the risks.
  • Approach conversations about alcohol and other drug use with their clients with confidence.
  • Understand how to utilise appropriate screening tools and resources.
  • Develop skills and knowledge around the utilisation of harm minimisation/reduction strategies, motivational interviewing and brief interventions.
  • Describe treatment options and referral pathways.
  • Confidently incorporate family, culture and community into client care.

With 15 years of experience in the non-government alcohol and other drugs sector in various frontline and management roles, Debby’s extensive knowledge spans prevention, harm reduction, early intervention, and treatment for alcohol and other drug use and comorbidity.
