Sonder introduces new mental health program for regional SA

Sonder is delighted to introduce Country Wellness Connections, a free program for individuals facing mental health challenges in regional areas of South Australia.

Through non-clinical, comprehensive psychosocial support, this initiative aims to support individuals to identify their goals and build skills in areas of their lives that may be impacting their recovery journey.

The support provided is flexible and tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs. Depending on personal goals, this may involve providing support with accessing the NDIS, building connections with other services, participating in community activities, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, managing substance use concerns, setting career and study goals, building skills in finance and budgeting, improving personal relationships or developing independence, confidence and resilience.

Country Wellness Connections is delivered by an experienced team of peer practitioners and mental health support workers. Peer practitioners use their own lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery to support people who are going through a similar situation.

The program is available for individuals aged 16 years and over living in the council areas of Gawler, Barossa, Adelaide Plains, Light Regional, Wakefield and Goyder. It is not accessible for those already receiving support through the NDIS or other state-funded services.

Appointments are offered at our Sonder offices in Gawler and Nuriootpa, with the option for our team to provide home or community-based visits.
