2023-24 Annual Report
We are pleased to announce the release of Sonder’s 2023-24 Annual Report.
This report reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality health and community services across six key domains – mental health, homelessness, Aboriginal health, alcohol and/or other drugs, employment, and primary health – and celebrates the dedication of our team in helping thousands of South Australians reach improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
In the past year, Sonder supported 13,686 people in metropolitan and regional communities across South Australia. This year’s report details our efforts to strengthen Sonder’s foundations, with a focus on financial stability, service delivery excellence, and governance. Financially, we are pleased to have recorded a modest deficit – a positive sign that our turnaround strategies are beginning to deliver results.
We made strategic investments in modern technology and data systems, enabling us to enhance productivity, improve service quality, and ensure financial resilience in response to evolving sector demands. The positive impact of these improvements reflects our ability to adapt while meeting the growing needs of the communities we serve.
One of the significant milestones this year was the opening of the Northern Adelaide Medicare Mental Health Centre in Elizabeth. Opened in April, this new centre offers no-cost, walk-in mental health support for adults experiencing distress or crisis, with no appointment or referral required. The centre addresses the urgent need for additional mental health services in Adelaide’s northern region, where psychological distress and socio-economic disadvantage are notably high. With an average of 93% of clients reporting improved wellbeing following their visit, the centre has quickly become a vital resource in the community. We remain committed to its continued improvement and look forward to further expanding its reach and impact.
Our 2023-24 Annual Report is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, Board, and Executive Management Team, and our collaboration with our stakeholders.
This year, we are pleased to present our Annual Report in a digital format. The new website-based format offers a more engaging, interactive, and easily navigable experience. We invite you to explore the report and learn more about our key milestones, strategic advancements, and commitment to improving the lives of South Australians as we look forward to another impactful year ahead.
