headspace at Twelve25 Youth Centre pilot concludes
The headspace Edinburgh North service delivered at Twelve25 Youth Centre in partnership with the City of Salisbury will conclude on 7 August 2026, marking the end of a successful pilot that has supported young people in the Salisbury community.
The pilot brought free and confidential mental health support directly into a trusted youth space, making it easier for young people aged 12 to 25 to access early support close to home.
Delivered by headspace Edinburgh North, the service provided a welcoming, youth-friendly environment where young people could connect with qualified clinicians for support across mental health, wellbeing and broader life challenges.
While the pilot is coming to an end, young people, families and the broader community can be reassured that support remains very much available. Young people aged 12 to 25 can continue to access free and confidential support through headspace Edinburgh North.
To request support, young people can:
- Visit the centre in person: 2 Peachey Road, Edinburgh North
- Call the team: (08) 8209 0750
- Make an online referral: headspace.org.au/edinburgh-north
- Be referred by a GP, school, or other service
Reflecting on the pilot’s impact
Since launching, the headspace at Twelve25 Youth Centre initiative has played an important role in connecting with young people in the Salisbury area.
To date, the pilot has supported 133 young people, delivered 395 face-to-face sessions and an additional 131 phone-based supports.
Beyond the numbers, the pilot has created meaningful engagement with young people and strengthened the visibility of headspace within the local community – an outcome that provides a strong foundation for future work.
Sonder Executive Manager, Mental Health Services, Kelly Stewart said the pilot had demonstrated the value of meeting young people where they are.
“Through this pilot, we’ve seen how important it is to provide support in spaces that feel familiar and accessible to young people. The engagement we’ve built with the Salisbury community is something we’re really proud of.”
“While the service at Twelve25 is coming to an end, our commitment to young people in this community remains strong. We’ll continue to provide support through headspace Edinburgh North and look forward to building on what we’ve learned through future partnerships.”
Looking ahead
Sonder and headspace Edinburgh North remain committed to supporting young people in the Salisbury community and beyond.
The pilot has reinforced the value of accessible, community-based mental health support and the importance of strong local partnerships.
Sonder looks forward to continuing to build on its strong partnership with the City of Salisbury and exploring future opportunities that support the health and wellbeing of young people.
