Head to Health Centres are being rebranded to Medicare Mental Health Centres
As part of its commitment to strengthening Medicare and improving access to free mental health services, the Australian Government has announced a decision to rename its national network of adult mental health centres.
As part of these changes, our Northern Adelaide Head to Health Centre will soon be renamed to Northern Adelaide Medicare Mental Health Centre.
While our name and signage will be updated, we want to assure the community that our services will remain the same—free, confidential, and accessible without the need for a referral, appointment, or Medicare card. The centre will also continue to be open for extended hours, ensuring support is available when it’s needed most.
Located at 23 Gillingham Rd, Elizabeth, the centre will continue to provide mental health information and services to individuals, including their families and carers. Our team of qualified mental health professionals, including those with lived experience of mental health challenges will remain dedicated to connecting community members with the help they need, including other services to support them in the future, such as housing and employment assistance.
Stay tuned for more updates as we transition to our new identity, the Northern Adelaide Medicare Mental Health Centre. For more information about Medicare Mental Health Centres, visit health.gov.au/medicare-mental-health-centres.
