COPE is an integrated treatment program that addresses both post-traumatic symptoms and substance use.

Your Clinician will work with you, teaching you how to manage memories about the trauma without using alcohol or drugs.

What do we offer?

  • Regular appointments with the same Clinician

    Appointments are weekly and last 60-90 minutes.

  • Support for both PTSD and substance use

    Address both issues through one service provider.

  • Treatment tailored to your symptoms

    We’ll specifically address the way your trauma symptoms and substance use interact.

  • No cost

    There is no cost to attend this service.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for this COPE, you must:

  • Live in the Gawler – Barossa region;
  • Be prepared to attend 12 in-person appointments;
  • Have experienced a traumatic experience and use substances to cope and;
  • Be over the age of 16.

Who are the staff?

COPE staff are highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Clinicians, including Psychologists, Mental Health Accredited Social Workers and Mental Health Nurses.

They have extensive experience in treating mental health concerns such as PTSD and with substance use concerns.

How do I access the service?

To get started with COPE, you’ll need to visit your GP and request a Mental Health Treatment Plan.

To refer a patient to this service, please download the Mental Health Treatment Plan, complete and return to us via email or fax.

Due to program restrictions, Sonder clinicians are not able to provide medicolegal reports or assessments.
