Information about referrals and our operational services

As the festive season approaches, Sonder would like to remind stakeholders that our offices will be closed for 2 weeks during the Christmas and New Year period.

Our offices will close at 5 pm Thursday 21 December 2023 and will reopen at 9 am Monday 8 January 2024.

Please note that clients referred to Sonder or our headspace centres (Adelaide, Edinburgh North, Marion and Onkaparinga) during this period may not be contacted until after Monday 8 January 2024.

Mental health and AOD services in metropolitan Adelaide:

  • Throughout this period, general practices can continue to send referrals for Sonder/headspace mental health and alcohol and/or other drug (AOD) services in metropolitan Adelaide to the Head to Health Phone Service through secure messaging via HealthLink (EDI: adphncru).

Mental health and AOD services in regional South Australia:

  • Referrals for Sonder’s mental health and AOD services in regional South Australia can be sent directly to Sonder via fax (08) 8252 9433 or email at info@sonder.net.au

Operating services

While some of our services take a short break, a number of our services remain operational

  • headspace Adelaide Early Psychosis is open from 9 am to 5 pm, 7 days a week (including public holidays). Contact 0475 989 619 for more information. Referrals can be faxed to 1800 632 193 or submitted online.
  • Walk-in After-Hours Mental Health Service is open from 5 pm to 9 pm, Monday to Friday (including public holidays) at 2 Peachey Road, Edinburgh North. No appointment or referral is required. Contact (08) 8209 0711 during opening hours for more information.
  • Safe Haven is a drop-in mental health service open from 5 pm to 9 pm, Tuesday to Friday (including public holidays) at 9 John Street, Salisbury. No appointment or referral is required.
  • Suicide Prevention Service referrals can be sent to the Head to Health Phone Service through secure messaging via HealthLink (EDI: adphncru).
  • For more information about the Toward Home Wellbeing service, contact 1800 809 273

A reminder that Sonder is not a crisis service. Individuals requiring immediate mental health support should contact one of the following services:
